12 July, Vitebsk /BELTA/. The Ministries of Culture of Belarus and Ukraine are interested in further cooperation. The implementation of potential projects was discussed at a working meeting in Vitebsk by the Minister of Culture of Belarus, Pavel Latushko, and the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine, Mykhailo Kulynyak, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the press secretary of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, Anna Smolyanskaya. In particular, the ministers discussed prospects in the field of education, museum and library affairs, and the possibility of exchange tours between the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre and the Ivan Franko National Theatre. The Belarusian side noted its interest in further cooperation with leading Ukrainian higher education institutions on organising internships for students, postgraduates, doctoral candidates, and lecturers of higher education institutions in the field of culture and arts. Furthermore, the ministers discussed the organisation and holding of a presentation in Belarus on preferential terms in the field of film production with the participation of filmmakers and specialists from Ukraine and other countries. The parties paid special attention to issues of cooperation within the framework of the Council of Europe's regional programme "Kyiv Initiative". Pavel Latushko expressed gratitude for the assistance in implementing the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus to erect a monument to the outstanding Belarusian writer and poet Vladimir Korotkevich in Kyiv.-0-
