The main scientific research areas for which grants were allocated include energy supply, chemical synthesis of new substances, bioenergy, new materials for industry, and science-intensive technologies.
According to the minister, 58 higher education institutions and their branches participated in the XXI Republican Competition of Student Research Papers, with 3,718 research papers submitted. In total, participants in the competition published approximately 7,000 articles and over 5,500 abstracts, presented 104 intellectual property documents, and over 4,600 implementation acts, of which about 1,300 were implemented in production.
Mikhail Zhuravkov emphasised that the Ministry of Education pays close attention to the career advancement of young people. According to him, within the universities of the Ministry of Education system, 36 faculty deans are under 40 years of age, and 145 heads of departments are in the same age group.
"Thanks to young, creative, and innovation-oriented educators, startup centres are developing in the country's universities (particularly at BSU, BSUIR, and BNTU). Student business incubators play an important role in increasing the interest of student youth in scientific and entrepreneurial activities," the minister stated. With the support of the Ministry of Education, the I Republican Forum of Youth Startup Movement was held at the base of Polessye University.
