17 January, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus considers it possible to increase industrial production by 30-40% in the next five years through the extraction and processing of natural resources. This was stated today at the meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Vladimir Tsalko, BELTA correspondent reports.
The IV All-Belarusian People's Congress has set tasks for the rational and efficient use of natural resources and the development of the mineral and raw material base. Belarus has reserves of potash salts, phosphates, dolomites, and is rich in reserves of mineral and fresh water. However, it is not only about developing deposits and extracting minerals. It is necessary to learn to process them, obtain added value, and sell them profitably, emphasized Vladimir Tsalko. In particular, the Ministry of Natural Resources is currently developing a strategy for the development of mineral water deposits.
At the same time, the task of preserving natural wealth and environmental safety remains a priority for the ministry. In this regard, modern technologies that minimize anthropogenic impact on nature will be used in the development of natural mineral deposits.-0-
