"If we reach this point – with requirements developed and regulations established – then why not release products under the unified mark 'Made in EAEU'?" believes the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. This, according to him, will expand opportunities and allow agricultural producers to increase the benefits from product sales both in domestic and foreign markets.
"We support this idea and are ready to support those enterprises that have already been created or will be created to work in this direction," added Aleksei Bogdanov.
In accordance with the agreed agro-industrial policy of the Customs Union and Single Economic Space member states, approved by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Treaty on the EAEU, a concept has been developed aimed, in particular, at addressing issues of balanced development of agricultural production and markets, ensuring fair competition, equal access to common agricultural markets, unification of requirements related to product circulation, and protection of producers' interests in domestic and foreign markets.
"To implement it, a phased action plan was approved by a decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in November 2014. In particular, it concerns issues of financing, state support for agriculture, regulation of the common market, unified requirements in the sphere of production and circulation of agricultural products, as well as their export," noted the Head of the Main Department.
On the eve of this, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, sent an address to the heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Union member states in connection with Belarus's assumption of the presidency in the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, and the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on January 1, 2015.
The address notes that Belarus views the EAEU as a key integration association contributing to the economic and social stability of the region. It also contains a number of proposals. In particular, they concern the adoption of measures for the swift transition to a coordinated, and in the long term, a unified industrial and agro-industrial policy, the acceleration of the development and adoption of the main directions of industrial cooperation within the union, and ensuring the unconditional commencement of the functioning of unified markets for medicines and medical devices from January 1, 2016. Furthermore, it is proposed to begin the practical implementation of the provisions of the treaty providing for joint actions to develop exports.
