The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, in agreement with the Ministry of Economy, has increased the maximum minimum prices for agricultural products (livestock) purchased for state needs by 55-67%. This decision is contained in the ministry's resolution No. 58 of September 19, 2011, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food informed a BELTA correspondent. In particular, the minimum purchase prices for milk have been increased by 55%. Thus, the new price for extra grade milk will be Br1.88 million per tonne, for the highest grade - Br1.62 million, for the first grade - Br1.495 million. According to the document, purchase prices for pigs are increasing by 62%. In particular, the price for pigs for slaughter will vary depending on the category from Br4.496 million to Br9.537 million per tonne of live weight (excluding VAT), and for pork per tonne of slaughter weight - from Br7.744 million to Br15.923 million. In addition, purchase prices for cattle are increasing by 67%. Thus, prices for cattle for slaughter will be, excluding VAT, from Br2.756 million to Br33.049 million per tonne of live weight, and per tonne of slaughter weight - from Br7.113 million to Br61.615 million. Ministry specialists, commenting on the adopted resolution, noted that the maximum minimum prices for livestock products have been brought to the level of actually existing prices in the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions. In other regions, they were lower, so there was a need to establish a unified price level, which will positively affect the fulfillment of the state order for these products. According to specialists, in regions other than Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions, with the entry into force of this resolution of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the current prices for milk will be increased by 5% to 15%, for cattle - by 7% to 27%, for pigs - by 6% to 22%. The increase in maximum minimum purchase prices for livestock products is also related to the need to partially compensate for the increased cost of resources used in their production. The current increase in purchase prices for milk and cattle is the first this year, and for pigs - the second. The resolution comes into force after its official publication. -0-
