The Ministry of Architecture and Construction has announced the launch of the republican children's creativity contest "ArchNovation-2016", as reported to BelTA correspondent by the ministry's press secretary, Evgenia Filimonova.
"The 'ArchNovation' children's creativity contest is being held for the fifth time. Its aim is to increase interest in the architecture of one's native region, develop children's architectural and artistic creativity, and foster environmental awareness. This year, the contest is dedicated to the Year of Culture," said Evgenia Filimonova.
The contest is organised by the Ministry of Architecture and Construction and the National Centre for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth.
Participants in the contest include students of interest groups at institutions of additional education for children and youth, and other educational and cultural institutions, as well as individual participants. The age of participants ranges from 4 to 20 years.
Entries for the contest can include unframed paintings and graphic works (A3-A2 format); architectural models – three-dimensional representations of buildings or complexes of buildings, made from any materials; unframed artistic photographs of A4 size. The themes for the works are: "Architectural Styles in Belarusian Architecture" and "Eco-Architecture".
Contest entries and applications for participation are accepted until September 5, 2016.
Winners and prize-winners of the contest in each nomination and age category will be awarded diplomas of I, II, and III degrees and prizes from the Ministry of Architecture and Construction; participants of the exhibition of the best contest works will receive diplomas from the National Centre for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth.
Following the results of the "ArchNovation-2016" children's creativity contest, an exhibition of the best works will be held in the exhibition hall of the National Centre for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth from September 13 to October 15, 2016.
Last year, over 2,000 entries were submitted to the contest.
