25 October, Minsk /Tatsiana Lobas - BELTA/. Retail prices and tariffs in Belarus will be rounded due to the withdrawal of Br10 and Br20 banknotes from circulation. The Ministry of Trade has prepared recommendations on the procedure for rounding retail prices and tariffs in response to questions received from business entities and the public, the ministry informed BELTA. The retail price (tariff) is rounded per unit of measurement accepted (piece, dozen, metre, kilogram, litre, etc.). Thus, amounts up to Br25 are discarded, from Br25 inclusive up to Br75 are rounded to Br50, and from Br75 and above are rounded to Br100. When determining retail prices for a set (suite, kit) assembled from goods sold by retail organisations, the price of each item included in the set is rounded separately. After summing the retail prices, taking into account the rounding of each item's price, the price of the set itself is not rounded. When determining the price for a set as a whole (if prices for individual items in the set are not available), the price of the set is rounded. As for catering establishments, the selling price of a dish, item, or portion is rounded here. When selling goods by weight or measure, the cost of each purchase (weighing) is rounded. When determining the retail prices for items made of precious metals sold by weight, for which the selling prices are set per gram of the item, the retail price per gram of the item is first rounded to the nearest whole rouble, and then the retail price for the item as a whole. Prices for goods sold at selling prices with the addition of maximum trade mark-ups are rounded after these mark-ups and value added tax have been applied. The Ministry of Trade has drawn particular attention to the fact that business entities engaged in retail trade must adhere to the maximum trade mark-up limits for goods subject to price regulation, and at the same time must not violate current pricing legislation.-0-
