18 May, Minsk /BELTA/. The functions of the authorized body for public procurement will be transferred from the Ministry of Economy to the Ministry of Trade from July 1, the Ministry of Economy of Belarus informed BELTA.
This is due to an amendment made by Decree No. 168 of April 12, 2013 "On Certain Measures to Optimize the System of State Bodies and Other State Organizations, as well as the Number of Their Employees" to Decree No. 576 of December 29, 2012 "On Certain Issues of Public Procurement of Goods (Works, Services)".
"This change provides for the designation of the Ministry of Trade as the authorized state body for public procurement from July 1, 2013. Accordingly, from July 1, 2013, the clarification of legislation on public procurement, the consideration of complaints, and the approval of procurement procedures from a single source will be carried out by the Ministry of Trade," the Ministry of Economy explained.
In this regard, the ministry draws attention to the deadlines for submitting documents to the Ministry of Economy for the approval of procurement procedures from a single source, as the preparation of conclusions and responses requires at least 15 days.-0-
