21 February, Minsk /Anna Kot - BELTA/. An Article IV consultation mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be working in Minsk from February 22 to March 6, BELTA was informed by the IMF Representation in Belarus.
The traditional annual mission will be working under Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement. "Belarus's economic policy for the previous year will be reviewed, as well as changes in the country's economic situation. In addition, issues of economic policy for the current year will be discussed with government representatives," the IMF Representation noted.
The mission will be headed by Chris Jarvis.
The International Monetary Fund holds such consultations with all member countries. During the mission's work in Belarus, meetings are planned at the Ministry of Finance, where the parties will discuss the results of the financial system's performance in 2011, as well as the main priorities and tasks of fiscal policy in 2012. The Ministry of Finance does not rule out discussing the issue of financial cooperation with the IMF during the consultations. -0-
