"The IMF mission, led by Peter Dolman, will visit Minsk from June 21 to June 30 and will assess the current economic policy and hold annual consultations with the authorities under Article IV. During the mission, meetings will be held with representatives of the government, the central bank, the private sector, the academic community, and professional organizations. A press release will be issued following the work," the representative office explained.
The International Monetary Fund is a specialized agency of the UN with headquarters in Washington (USA). The official date of the IMF's establishment is December 27, 1945. Belarus has been a member of the IMF since 1992. The IMF's activities in Belarus are aimed at cooperating with the government and the National Bank in preparing economic policy programs with a focus on fiscal and monetary policy, exchange rate, and trade policy, with the aim of achieving significant economic growth, low inflation, and balance of payments sustainability.
