Rallies and the laying of flowers and wreaths also took place at the burial sites of internationalist soldiers.

One such place is the Petrovskoye Cemetery in Lepel. Three Afghan war veterans are buried here.

The Day of the Withdrawal of Troops from Afghanistan is both the Day of Afghan Veterans and the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow for all fallen internationalist soldiers. This is a sacred date for those who fought on foreign soil, witnessed the death of friends, young men who seemed to have their whole lives ahead of them.
