Meat processing enterprises of the Vitebsk concern "Meat and Dairy Products" increased their export supplies in January by 38% to $7.5 million, the concern informed BELTA correspondent. The Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant achieved the highest results in the first month of the year, with its exports growing by 70.9% to $4.2 million. The exports of Glubokoye Meat Processing Plant amounted to 107.1% compared to January 2011 ($2 million), and Miory Meat Processing Plant - 138.3% ($0.8 million). Orsha Meat Canning Plant carried out supplies worth $0.5 million. The main sales market for the region's enterprises is Russia. Products were also shipped to Kazakhstan and Georgia. In January, the concern's meat processing enterprises produced products worth Br152.8 billion, which is 2.6 times more than in the same period last year. Sales profitability was 5.8%. Profit from sales amounted to Br11.6 billion. The energy saving indicator was minus 10.4% against the target of minus 8%. Investments in the fixed capital of the region's meat industry enterprises in 2012 will exceed Br30 billion. For example, Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant has begun the reconstruction of its dry-cured sausage department this year: tender documents for the procurement of necessary equipment are currently being prepared. The construction of a new facility, a cold storage shop, has begun at Miory Meat Processing Plant. Its one-time storage capacity for raw meat will be up to 500 tons. The launch of this facility will allow the enterprise to significantly improve the quality of products and reduce energy costs. Glubokoye Meat Processing Plant plans to complete the reconstruction of its slaughterhouse in 2012. Technological equipment has been received and is being partially installed. The commissioning of the pig slaughter line is scheduled for April, and the cattle slaughter line - for the second half of the year.
