April 25, Minsk /BelTA Correspondent/. The opinions of scientists and the Church have been taken into account in the development of the Concept for the creation of infrastructure in the historical districts of Polotsk. This was announced today during an online conference on the BelTA website by the Chairman of the Polotsk City Executive Committee, Alexander Poznyak. The concept for the creation of infrastructure in the area of the Spaso-Evfrosinievsky Monastery and St. Sophia Cathedral is based on information obtained from previously conducted historical, archival, and bibliographic research, as well as the historical and architectural plan of these territories. Recommendations from the scientific supervisor of the "Historical Center of Polotsk" object have been taken into account. All opinions of the Polotsk Diocese regarding infrastructure facilities in the area of the Spaso-Evfrosinievsky Monastery have also been considered. "The main task of the concept is to develop proposals for the preservation and restoration of the historical character of the architectural ensemble of the buildings," emphasized Alexander Poznyak. "The second, equally important task, is to develop measures for the harmonious adaptation of historical buildings to the conditions and requirements of modern life." -0-
