On December 15, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Financial incentives for the modernisation of enterprises in the Vitebsk region will be included in the regional budget for 2013. This was stated today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, during the discussion of the region's budget for 2013 at a joint meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The amount of Br2 billion initially proposed by the financial department, intended for the repayment of interest on bank loans to enterprises implementing major modernisation projects, did not receive support from either the members of the regional executive committee or the members of the presidium of the regional council. "For the economy to work effectively, the renewal of production capacities is necessary," emphasised the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Novatsky.
Alexander Kosinets stressed that enterprise managers should be interested in their development themselves, but supported the idea of financial incentives.
It is expected that the region's budget surplus in 2013 will exceed Br2 trillion, of which Br200 billion will be allocated to stimulate modernisation processes. The remaining funds will be directed to housing and communal services for capital and current repairs of the housing stock, to the development of sports, to the purchase of mineral fertilisers for agricultural organisations, to the state concern "Myasomolprom" for the continuation of reconstruction work on processing enterprises, as well as for the preparation of Horadok for the agricultural workers' festival-fair "Dazhynki-2014".-0-
