Youth for Patronage Assistance

From 2 to 14 October, the "Youth for Safety" campaign is taking place in Lepel District. As part of this campaign, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers and Firefighters, provided patronage assistance to lonely pensioners and large families for a week.

From 2 to 14 October, the "Youth for Safety" campaign is taking place in Lepel District. As part of this campaign, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers and Firefighters, provided patronage assistance to lonely pensioners and large families for a week.

For example, a labour contingent of students from the Lepel Agricultural and Technical College provided patronage assistance with clearing household plots and other domestic needs, as well as helping to install autonomous fire detectors.

Of course, prevention was also a key focus! To prevent fire tragedies, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded citizens of fire safety rules in everyday life, the emergency service telephone numbers 101 and 112, and safety rules for operating heating and electrical equipment. Useful thematic visual materials were also distributed.

Rescuers and activists wished the citizens health and longevity, and in return received many warm words of gratitude.

In the elapsed period of 2013, 28 fires occurred in the territory of Lepel District, resulting in 2 fatalities.

To prevent fires in residential buildings, rescuers remind you:

- install an autonomous fire detector in your home and keep it in good working order;

- monitor the condition of stove heating and electrical wiring, do not leave stoves and electrical appliances unattended;

- under no circumstances use flammable and combustible liquids for kindling;

- do not leave young children unattended, teach them safety rules;

- in case of fire, call the Ministry of Emergency Situations at telephone numbers 101, 112!
