16 August, Minsk /BELTA/. Youth internet television A-TV is planned to be launched in Belarus in a month. This was announced today to journalists by Igor Buzovsky, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the public association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union", before the opening of the youth internet forum "I am a Leader!", as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The BRYM has long been considering the creation of such an original internet resource. "It is not easy to do this on a voluntary basis, but we will try," said Igor Buzovsky.
Alexander Stasevich, Deputy Head of the Internet Projects Centre of the CC of the PA "BRYM", in turn, said that reports from the first youth internet TV in Belarus can already be viewed on the website www.A-TV.by, as well as on the A-TV page on the social network "VKontakte".
The project is aimed at young people who want to express themselves in journalism. Anyone can create their own report and send it to the administration of the website www.A-TV.by or via the website's group on "VKontakte".
It is expected that after A-TV starts broadcasting live, studio debates, social programmes, and much more will be available here.
The youth internet forum "I am a Leader!" brought together about 200 young bloggers, aspiring web journalists, leaders of internet communities, and administrators of youth websites from all regions of Belarus. Forum participants will have the opportunity to communicate in an informal setting with masters of Belarusian journalism, political analysts, and leaders of various internet communities.
The programme also includes master classes from internet technology specialists, business games, and training sessions, including those aimed at personal growth and leadership development.
The "I am a Leader!" forum has launched the "Make Your Choice" programme, which the BRYM is implementing during the preparation and conduct of elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the fifth convocation.
The BRYM plans to hold large-scale campaigns to foster national and civic consciousness among youth, promote statehood and patriotism, and respect for the history, culture, and traditions of their people.
Among the most significant events are the rally of student teams "Summer-2012", the republican project "100 Ideas for Belarus", and the youth marathon "Make Your Choice".
Furthermore, the BRSM intends to organise the republican campaign "Day of the Young Voter" – a mass information campaign designed to inform young people about their rights, and to talk about the achievements and opportunities gained as a result of the implementation of the state youth policy.
"The Belarusian Republican Youth Union traditionally takes an active part in all socially significant events of the country, and parliamentary elections are no exception," noted Igor Buzovsky, speaking about the significance of the "Make Your Choice" programme.
"We want to emphasise that today the state provides a huge number of opportunities that must be able to be used. The objective of the campaign is to present them," stressed the leader of the youth union. -0-
