November 28, Lepel /Own. inf./.Competitions for young motorists, representatives of various enterprises and organizations of the district – the gymnasium, children's hospital, KOOP motor transport depot, RUPS, DOSAAF, PMK-75, PMS, DRC "Zhemchuzhiny", KUPP "Borovka" – were held at the Lepel DOSAAF autodrome.
This event, which has become traditional, was previously held on the town square. Its organizers are the Department for Youth Affairs, the Department of Internal Affairs of the District Executive Committee, the driving school, and the RK OO "BRSM". In addition to the changed venue, there is another feature this year: for the first time, girls demonstrated their car driving skills. These are Anastasia Akhramovich, a music and dance teacher at the gymnasium, Oksana Sharamet, head of the children's hospital's facilities, and Yuliana Khotko, a waitress at the "Zhemchuzhina" Children's Rehabilitation and Health Centre.
The competitions were held in two stages. The first stage was theoretical, covering traffic rules. The second stage was practical: bridge, clearance circle, yard, slalom, parking the car in a box backwards and sideways. Results were summarised after each stage.
Dmitry Solovyov, a master of vocational training and mechanical vehicle operation at DOSAAF, rightfully won prizes for first place in both stages. Although Sergey Sidorok, a software engineer at the district postal communication hub, came third in the traffic rules test and the obstacle course, he took second place in the overall competition. Mikhail Bumaga, a driver at PMK-75, completed the top three winners.
