2 August, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A youth environmental camp has brought together volunteers from the Belarusian regional centre, Russian Smolensk and German Hagen in Vitebsk. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Department for Youth Affairs and Defence Mobilisation Work of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee. For the next ten days, the main focus for 30 young people will be the lake near the urban settlement of Ruba. Volunteers will help clean the beach and recreational water area, equip the shore with gazebos, benches, and shelters, and prepare a volleyball court. This work will be carried out in the first half of the day. The remaining time will be dedicated to training sessions, seminars, and workshops on environmental topics, as well as familiarisation with the sights of Vitebsk. The volunteer camp, with the participation of youth from three partner cities, is being held within the framework of the international project Ewoca-3, aimed at developing international youth contacts and environmental education through joint labour activities. It was first held in 2009 in Hagen, where participants were involved in tree planting. Last year, volunteers were involved in improving Smolensk. Vitebsk is the final stage of the project. At the same time, the Vitebsk City Executive Committee is already considering new interesting proposals presented by Ewoca-3 partners for further joint activities.-0-
