This year's harvest campaign is proving to be a tough one. From dawn till dusk, employees of the district's agricultural enterprises are fighting for every ear of corn and every grain. Among them are many young people who need not only the advice of their senior colleagues but also support.
Representatives of the district committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union visited the young grain growers in the field: the first secretary Tatyana Shcherbach and the second secretary Andrey Kravtsov, as well as accountant Marina Timofeyeva. Their route led them to a field near the village of Zateklasyye, where the youth crews of SPF "Zaozerie" of OJSC "Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant" were harvesting leguminous crops – combine operator Sergey Kostyukovich and his assistant Vadim Zagorskiy on a KZS-1218. Sergey Kostyukovich recently celebrated a significant milestone – nine years of work at SVF "Zaozerie", continuing a family tradition. Vadim Zagorskiy is still a newcomer, working at the farm for the first year. The young field workers were briefly pulled away from the harvest campaign to be presented with "Youth Crew" stickers and small gifts. Member of the District Committee of the BRYU Alexey Shpak was also congratulated.
"Harvest Battle" is one of the components of the operational district competition for the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in 2017 among youth harvesting crews: combine operators and young drivers involved in grain harvesting. During the harvest season, we will visit all young workers in the district. Furthermore, we are preparing letters of gratitude for the parents of the young crews. The young combine operator who first threshes eight hundred tons, and the first driver to haul a thousand tons of grain will be awarded a valuable gift.
As of August 10th, Sergey Kostyukovich and Vadim Zagorskiy's crew had harvested 104 hectares and threshed 343.7 tons, while Alexey Shpak had transported 449 tons of the harvest.
