The cross-photo quest "Walking into History", dedicated to the International Day for Monuments and Sites (World Heritage Day), will engage the youth of Glubokoye on April 18, organisers informed a BELTA correspondent.
An unusual quest focusing on architectural monuments, which are included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Heritage or potentially could be, will take place in the district centre this evening. "In this unusual way, we want to draw attention to the historical heritage of Glubokoye, and popularise knowledge about it among the youth. Three teams will participate: working youth, high school students, and a team from the Youth Chamber under the district executive committee. Each will have its own route of 8 sites," explained Elena Myadilets, a researcher at the Glubokoye Historical and Ethnographic Museum.
The essence of the quest is that each team is given 8 questions with attached photographs depicting elements of monuments. They need to find these sites and take a selfie against the background of the object. Additionally, the correct answers must be entered into a crossword puzzle, and the word formed vertically will indicate the finish point.
Elena Myadilets noted that there are a total of 66 historical and cultural values in Glubokoye, not counting intangible heritage sites. Every year, the museum initiates the inclusion of new sites in the list, including in 2016, when the museum building itself, constructed in the early 1920s, received the status of a historical and cultural value and a protection plaque.
