Rescuer's Day. Two words behind which lie thousands of lives saved.

A special atmosphere prevailed at the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations – strict and solemn at the same time. Those for whom risk has become an integral part of their profession, and saving others' lives – their daily work, gathered in the hall. A festive event dedicated to the professional holiday – Rescuer's Day – took place here.

The Head of the Lepel Department for Emergency Situations, Ivan Maskalkov, addressed the heroes of the day with a welcoming speech. The head of the department emphasized that the peace and safety of Lepel residents are the result of the round-the-clock readiness of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) personnel to come to the rescue at any moment. Thanking his colleagues for their selfless work, he proceeded to a pleasant mission – presenting well-deserved awards based on the results of work for 2025.

For exemplary performance of official duty and high results, Lepel residents were awarded special ranks and presented with awards of various levels. District leaders who have been providing close cooperation and mutual assistance to the department for many years were also awarded.

The festive event concluded with heartfelt wishes exchanged among colleagues. The main one sounded as the leitmotif of the entire meeting and resonated in every heart: may the alarm sirens in our district sound only for training purposes, and may every operational call-out always end with a safe return home to families.
