From December 5, 2019, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus is holding a competition for the best photo and video work titled "In the Spotlight". Its aim is to draw attention to the history and traditions of the internal affairs bodies, and to form an objective perception by society of the daily activities of police officers and internal troops servicemen.

Anyone over the age of 14 can participate in the competition. Works are accepted in the following nominations:

– "I would join the police" – works reflecting the desire of young people to enter law enforcement service;
– "Historical Heritage" – monuments, museum exhibits with the symbolism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
– "Police for Children" – works concerning the protection of the rights of adolescents and children;
– "Road Safety" – prevention of traffic rule violations;
– "Service Day and Night" – about the specifics of service in the police and internal troops.

Works with applications are accepted until February 20, 2020 at uios@mvd.gov.by. The application should be in free form and include participant's details (Full Name, postal and email address, phone number, brief description of the work, and nomination title).

The competition commission will evaluate the works based on criteria such as originality, artistic value, and technical execution. The jury will select no more than three finalists in each nomination, among whom the winners will be determined by the total score.

The award ceremony will take place on the eve of Police Day.
