From today, the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system have been transferred to an enhanced duty regime. Operational situation headquarters will coordinate the work. "The arrival of delegates from the regions to Minsk is ensured along pre-planned and surveyed routes. Their places of residence and the venue of the People's Assembly, as well as other related facilities, have been taken under round-the-clock guard. In addition, during the days of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, mobile groups and rapid response teams will be involved in ensuring law and order. The republican public security monitoring system is being used for continuous monitoring of the situation," the department said.
More than 3,000 law enforcement officers will protect public order. Personnel are oriented towards prompt response and suppression of violations of legislation on mass events and other offenses. Any information containing security threats, including those directed at delegates of the People's Assembly, will be given a legal assessment. "Internal affairs bodies are ready to ensure safe and calm conditions for holding the All-Belarusian People's Assembly," the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
