Lepel hosted a true celebration of youth on the eve of the great Victory Day – a rally of pioneer detachments, admission to the BRSM, the opening of the third labor semester, and the start of a traditional propaganda tour to the places of glory of our fathers.
The standard-bearers of the district pioneer organization marched in a solemn procession. On this day, it was joined by 142 young members. Dear guests – veterans of the Great Patriotic War and labor – tied the ties for them. Young men and women received BRSM membership cards. The consolidated student construction squad was represented by students from the agricultural technical college, the vocational lyceum, and the gymnasium. In fact, it consists of four detachments – ecological, construction, volunteer, and a farming squad will join a little later. This summer, the young people will work alongside adults on the construction of a modern dairy complex in the agro-town of Gorki, go to Yamal, become guides, help villagers during the harvest season, and foresters – plant a new forest, and tidy up the territory of their educational institutions. Participants of the propaganda tour laid wreaths and flowers at the monuments and graves of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, visited the servicemen of the Zaslonovo garrison, saw the museum of the search battalion, an exhibition of military equipment and armaments, and tasted soldiers' porridge.
The rally participants were welcomed by Nikolai Nikitin, Deputy Chairman of the Lepel District Executive Committee, and Tatyana Shcherbach, First Secretary of the District Committee of the BRSM. Grateful successors of their combat and labor glory presented flowers and souvenirs to the veterans.
