EEC confirms Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting on July 17 in Minsk

The Eurasian Economic Commission has confirmed that the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held on July 17 in Minsk in an in-person format. "An upcoming meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held in Minsk on July 17," the EEC press release distributed today states. "The agenda includes a wide range of issues of Eurasian integration in the fields of trade, internal market functioning, competition, industry, technical regulation, etc.".

The meeting will consider the progress of implementing the agreement on goods marking and the further development of the marking system in the Eurasian Economic Union. "Also on the agenda is a comprehensive action plan in the field of healthcare and sanitary-epidemiological well-being of the population to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in the union countries," the EEC noted.

It is planned to discuss the draft interstate program for cooperation of the EAEU countries in the field of providing space and geoinformation services based on remote sensing of the Earth.

"The EAEU agro-industrial development map and the union's industrialization map are planned for consideration. Both projects provide for a compilation of information on large-scale projects being implemented, which will allow union partners, when developing national development plans and investment programs, to avoid duplication of production, take into account development trends, and effectively use each other's competencies," the EEC added.
