In accordance with clause 207-1 of the Road Traffic Regulations of the Republic of Belarus, when participating in road traffic from December 1 to March 1, vehicles with a technically permissible total mass of up to 3.5 tonnes inclusive, passenger cars and light commercial vehicles with a technically permissible total mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes, as well as buses with a technically permissible total mass of up to 5 tonnes, must be equipped with winter tires.

Winter tires shall be fitted to all wheels of the vehicle and must comply with the requirements of part two of clause 25 of appendix 4 to the Road Traffic Regulations.
Winter tires for motor vehicles intended for operation on icy or snow-covered road surfaces must be marked with a symbol in the form of a mountain peak with three peaks and a snowflake inside it, or with the markings "M+S", "M&S", "M.S", "M S", or "All seasons". Winter tires shall be fitted to all wheels.
It is important to remember the administrative liability for violating clause 207-1 of the Road Traffic Regulations. In accordance with part 5 of article 18.22 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus, this violation provides for administrative liability in the form of a warning or a fine of up to 0.5 basic units.
