74 creative projects were submitted to the regional stage of the competition in two age categories: pupils of grades 5-7, and grades 8-10. At the district stages, over 450 participants presented their original video clips about interesting, unique facts from the past or present of Belarus to the jury.
Among the winners of the regional competition were our fellow countrymen.
In the age category 5-7 grades - Polina Tkachenok, a 7th-grade pupil of Lepel Secondary School No. 1. In the age category 8-10 grades - Victoria Duditskaya and Alexandra Tsar, pupils of Borov Secondary School of Lepel District.
The "Discovering Belarus" competition is held with the aim of fostering citizenship and patriotism among youth, the spiritual and moral values of the Belarusian people, respect for the country's historical past, and pride in its achievements.
The organizers were the Main Department for Education of the Regional Executive Committee, and the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth. Prizes were provided by the Republican Council for Historical Policy under the Administration of the President of Belarus.
