Driving a vehicle while intoxicated is punishable by a fine of up to 200 base units and
a five-year driving ban. Repeated similar violations entail criminal liability with confiscation of the vehicle, regardless of ownership.
For unlicensed drivers who repeatedly operate a vehicle, criminal liability is also provided for, with a maximum penalty of restriction of liberty for up to 2 years. Special attention is paid to persons who have been deprived of or have never obtained a driving license.
For failure to comply with the demands of a traffic police officer to stop a vehicle, the strictest measures of suppression and punishment will be applied. For violators who disobey the lawful demand of an inspector, administrative arrest or community service, or fines of up to 100 base units, will be applied.
To enforce penalties, the vehicle will be seized and mandatorily placed in an impound lot.
We emphasize: by order of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police officers are focused on a principled and strict assessment of the actions of individuals who commit gross violations of traffic regulations.
