The event, which marks a new stage in the life of every young man, began with a solemn rally on Freedom Square. Representatives of the authorities, military units, the Youth Union (BRSM), the district organization of the "Belaya Rus" Republican Public Association, and other public organizations, as well as conscripts, honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the graves.
The event then moved to the District House of Culture. The attention of everyone present was immediately drawn to an exhibition prepared by representatives of the 19th Separate Guards Mechanized Nikolaev-Budapest Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov Brigade and the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion.
In a solemn ceremony, the Decree of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko of July 27 No. 227 "On the Dismissal to the Reserve and Conscription for Compulsory Military Service, Service in the Reserve" was read out by the Military Commissar of Lepel and Ushaсhi Districts, Andrey Pukhalsky.
Andrey Leonidovich noted that every man remembers the day of taking the oath, how he served, and with whom he communicated. The army helps to reveal strong character traits.
-- During your service, you will gain true friends with whom you will maintain contact afterwards, and you will learn to appreciate your parents. Defending the Motherland is a necessary, honorable, and very responsible profession. Be worthy soldiers, because duty and oath are not just words. And I wish the parents patience and good news from the military units.
The Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Igor Urban, addressed the attendees:
-- ...At all times, defenders of the Fatherland have enjoyed special respect in our country. You bear a special responsibility not only to defend the Motherland but also to represent your native region while being far from home. You will soon become servicemen, you will be trained under the guidance of experienced officers, and acquire new knowledge and skills. You will definitely feel the shoulder of a comrade and mutual assistance. I know this firsthand, as I am a reserve lieutenant colonel. Service in the army has never been easy. It is difficult to leave your home, to obey strict army discipline, and to learn the basics of military affairs. But it is precisely service in the army that helps
to help a young man become a true man, a citizen, a patriot.
I am confident that you will honourably fulfil your military duty!
The recruits were also given parting words for the fulfilment of their military duty by the chairman of the district organisation of the public association "Republican Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan" Sergey Krivel, representative of the district organisation of the public association "Republican Union of Officers" Valery Leshchenok, representatives of the military units where our recruits will perform their military service, and other guests.
-- Military service is an honour and a sacred duty to the Fatherland for every man. Besides, a man is a person behind whom a woman feels peace and care. We should be proud that we live in Belarus, which is known for its peacefulness, -- noted the dean of the Lepel district, Archpriest Sergey Leshkevich, in his speech.
The priest urged young people to worthily continue the traditions of our glorious ancestors, wished the future soldiers spiritual and physical strength, and to turn to the Lord for support in difficult moments.
The culmination of the Conscript Day was the вручение повесток (issuance of conscription notices). And this means that a new stage will soon begin in their lives: they will undergo basic training, take the oath, and begin to master military professions, acquire special knowledge and skills.
On this day, the hall was filled not only with recruits but also with the parents of future soldiers and their friends.
The speeches of mothers and fathers always sound very touching and exciting. When the recruit's mother, Tatyana Borodeiko, spoke, there was complete silence in the hall, and many had tears in their eyes. And it is understandable why: not so long ago, parents took their sons to kindergarten, saw them off to school, and today they see them as adults, ready to serve the Motherland.
-- Serve with dignity so that we can be proud of you. Good luck, patience, and easy soldier's days! -- said Tatyana.
Thus, Mark Novomeysky, after graduating from the Lepel State Agrarian and Technical College, will soon go to serve in the 231st Artillery Brigade, which is stationed in Borovka. The young man believes that every young man should serve in the army. He plans to gain new experience and useful skills during this time.
Vlad Los received a diploma from the same institution this year and managed to work as a tractor driver at SPF "Zaozerie" of OJSC "Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant". He will soon go to the 19th Separate Guards Mechanised Brigade. His mood is --positive, because he believes: the army tempers character, polishes willpower and, importantly, instills useful habits.
Sergey Lazarev also graduated from LGATK and will soon be sent to the border troops. As the future soldier noted, his uncle served in these troops, shared his impressions -- and all of them were good.
-- I know that it's not easy to be assigned there — good health is not enough. I am glad that I ended up here, -- Sergey shares.
Congratulations to the conscripts were interspersed with musical performances by artists of the district House of Culture, which were warmly received by the public.
