Tactical special exercises were held in the Lepel district. The objective: to prepare the management bodies, forces and means of the district level of the territorial subsystem of the state system for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations for functioning in case of emergencies related to the spring flood.

According to the tactical scenario, as a result of active snowmelt, the water level in Lake Lepel rose. Consequently, along the Lepel Hydroelectric Power Station, a new riverbed formed, where the riverbank was eroded with a massive fall of trees into the Ulla River. A jam of trees formed near the pedestrian bridge located not far from a residential building at 2 Berezinskaya Street. There is a threat of flooding of Berezinskaya Street, 1st Berezinsky and Rechnoy Lanes.

In the same area, during ice fishing, two fishermen on a broken-off ice floe are asking for help. There is a possibility of fishermen falling into the water, which poses a threat to their lives and health. – To work through the introductory task, Berezinskaya Street was chosen, as part of the street suffers almost annually due to the rising water level in Lake Lepel. The Commission for Emergency Situations has taken the issue of the flood situation under constant control. During the exercises, emergencies that could threaten the lives and health of flood victims were simulated, and all options for their resolution were theoretically analyzed and practically worked out on-site. About 10 regional response services took part in the exercises, comments Ivan Maskalkov, head of the Lepel Emergency Situations Department.
