Rescuers Kirill Skakun and Sergey Papko were the first to arrive at the scene. Heavy smoke was observed inside the apartment. Near the entrance door on the floor, emergency service workers found a man and carried him out into the fresh air.
Concurrently, rescuers Yefim Kosyakov and Dmitry Gordionok conducted a search of the apartment, discovering another man in a room and carrying him outside.
The rescued men, born in 1970 and 1977, were examined by medics and hospitalised at the district hospital. Emergency service workers evacuated two people from the upper floors.
As a result of the fire, the walls, ceiling, and property in the room were smoke-damaged. The cause of the fire was careless handling of fire while smoking by one of the men.
