21 December, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Leaflets on Russian traffic regulations will appear at border petrol stations in the Pskov region in January 2013. Boris Govorun, head of the Russian Interior Ministry Directorate for the Pskov Region, announced this today at a press conference dedicated to the results of a joint meeting of the heads of the Russian Interior Ministry Directorates for the Smolensk and Pskov regions and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Department of Internal Affairs, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. The initiative to develop the leaflets belongs to the Pskov police and is primarily aimed at preventing road traffic accidents. Boris Govorun believes this will help Belarusian drivers avoid violating Russian traffic regulations. Speaking about joint measures to prevent road traffic accidents, the heads of the border internal affairs departments decided on the tactics of action in case of accidents involving Russian or Belarusian vehicles, as well as Russian and Belarusian citizens in the subordinate territories. In particular, the meeting discussed the system of work during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays when notifying about accidents, and the system of assistance to car owners and carriers in severe weather conditions. -0-
