Every year, the participants of the event demonstrate a high level of training. Among the athletes are schoolchildren, students of educational institutions, and employees of urban organizations and enterprises. For the second year, representatives of agro-towns have also wished to participate in the relay race.
To support the relay race participants, numerous colleagues and friends gathered in Freedom Square.
Schoolchildren were the first to start.
For several years, students of Secondary School No. 1 have been the winners of the relay race. It is not easy to maintain the leader's position. Behind a series of victories lie days of numerous training sessions.
- All members of our team attend sports clubs at school and participate in various sports sections at the Lepel Children and Youth Sports School, - notes Valery Bulakh, a physical education teacher at Secondary School No. 1. - Pupils of the 10 "A" class, Alyona Borykova and Yulia Divina, have been attending the school volleyball club for several years. Alyona is actively involved in various sports. Nikita Pavel, a pupil of the tenth "B" class, has repeatedly brought glory to the secondary school. He is the leader of the school volleyball team and is actively involved in tourism. This year, Nikita took first place in the summer multi-event at the district competitions for pre-conscription youth "Defender of the Fatherland". Vladislav Tukhta, a pupil of the tenth "A" class, has become a candidate for master of sports in rowing. Not long ago, he brought glory to the Lepel region at the republican rowing competitions. Margarita Zolotukha, a pupil of the 10 "A" class, as well as Alexey Shakun and Sabina Markova (9 "B" class), are actively involved in the handball club at the Lepel Children and Youth Sports School. Andrey Leyko, a pupil of the eleventh "B" class, is also committed to sports.
Physical education teachers of Secondary School No. 1, Valery Vladimirovich Bulakh and Vladimir Ivanovich Klunduk, can be proud of their students. This year, the team of Secondary School No. 1 took first place in the district sports meeting among schools.
One after another, the athletes reach the finish line and pass the baton to the next team member. Enthusiastic shouts of fans can be heard everywhere.
