Another significant event for many young residents of Lepel took place in the assembly hall of the district culture center – they were presented with conscription notices for compulsory military service and service in the reserve. In total, 49 conscripts from the Lepel district will be sent to military units during the current conscription campaign.
The most popular units are those of the Special Operations Forces: the 103rd Vitebsk Guards Separate Mobile Brigade, the 5th Separate Special Forces Brigade, and the 1st Separate Special Mobile Brigade of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. To become a soldier in any of these units, one must meet enhanced requirements: have excellent health, possess high moral and business qualities, and have no prior police records, let alone convictions. Fifteen young men have been selected for the Special Operations Forces in the current conscription, including Aleksandr Latushkin, Dmitry Ivanovsky, Viktor Aryakhin, Aleksandr Urban, Maksim Kuzmyankov, and Yevgeny Ivanov.
Lepel residents also serve with great enthusiasm in the units of the Zaslonovo garrison. Representatives of the 231st Artillery Brigade, the 427th Rocket Artillery Regiment, and the 3609th Artillery Ammunition Depot spoke about their service. The command of these units expressed gratitude to Natallya Ivanovna Gayko, mother of gunner-corporal Mikhail Gayko; Yury Vladimirovich and Galina Nikolaevna Zolotukha, parents of driver-mechanic private Ruslan Zolotukha; Aleksandr Aleksandrovich and Hanna Ryhoravna Kanopka, parents of detachment commander private Yevgeny Kanopka; Irina Vladimirovna Yarmash, mother of driver private Igor Yarmash; and Aleksandr Vasilyevich and Alena Stepanovna Lipin, parents of detachment commander sergeant Yevgeny Lipin. The young men are already serving in the army and have proven themselves excellent in mastering military equipment.
During the ceremony, welcoming remarks were made by the Chairman of the Conscription Commission of the Lepel District, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Nikolay Nikitin. Father Sergey Lyashkevich reminded them of the sacred duty to defend the Fatherland.
According to the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Status of Military Personnel," conscripts are provided with many social guarantees. However, in addition to this, the management of the enterprises from which the young men are being conscripted has decided to present them with commemorative gifts.
