As part of the large-scale information campaign by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) on the effectiveness of fire alarms, the necessity of their installation and timely maintenance, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations are giving presentations to work collectives.
Thus, rescuers discussed safety issues with employees of the sports and tourism sector, the Lepel Interdepartmental Security Service, the district telecommunication hub, and the "Zhemchuzhina" children's rehabilitation center in the village of Borovka.
During the presentations, rescue service employees informed those present about the current operational situation regarding fires in the region and district, explained the main causes of fires, and outlined measures to prevent them. The main emphasis during the presentations was placed on an important safety feature in every home – the autonomous fire alarm.
– An autonomous fire alarm is the most effective means for early fire detection. Last year, thanks to these devices, 93 people were saved in the country, including 21 children. This year, 53 people have already been saved in the republic thanks to autonomous fire alarms, including 12 children, – noted the MES employees. – Autonomous fire alarms are very simple to operate and do not require special skills. The main thing you need to do is periodically check the device's functionality by pressing the button and cleaning it of dust.
As part of the presentation, a thematic film was also shown, which visually demonstrated how to act in case of a fire and the importance of having a fire alarm in the home.
