The traffic police in the Vitebsk region have introduced a special operation codenamed "WEATHER".

A special "Weather" plan has been introduced in Vitebsk, Dokshytsy, Lepel, Senno, Chashniki, Beshenkovichi, Liozno, Dubrovno, Tolochin, Orsha, Shumilino, and Glubokoye districts.

A permanent monitoring of the road network has been organised. Escort of road and utility machinery convoys is also provided.

To avoid hindering snow removal operations, please do not park along roadsides or obstruct the movement of snow-clearing machinery.

Snowdrifts impair vehicle control, increase braking distance, and the risk of skidding.

In such weather conditions, it is particularly important to be attentive while driving: observe speed limits, maintain a safe distance and interval, avoid dangerous manoeuvres, and do not forget to fasten your seatbelts and those of your passengers.

If possible, refrain from travelling by private vehicle and use public transport instead.
