During the harvest, 5 youth crews achieved the "two-thousandth" mark.

August 10, Minsk /BELTA/. Five youth crews have reached the two-thousand-tonne mark in the harvest, Vladislav Dubitsky, official representative of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) Central Committee and head of the "Youth for Harvest!" project, told BELTA.

"As of today, 778 youth crews are involved in the harvesting campaign. Of these, 77 have reached the thousand-tonne mark, and 5 have reached the two-thousand-tonne mark. Leading the way are combine harvester assistant Alexander Golovach from SF "Kletsky" of OJSC "Slutsk Dairy Plant" (2,284 tonnes) and the youth crew of agricultural production tractor driver-machinist Andrey Drozd and mechanic Sergey Drozd from OJSC "Rassvet named after K.P. Orlovsky" (2,368 tonnes)," Vladislav Dubitsky said.

In addition, 541 young drivers are working on the harvest. "Of these, 92 have transported 1,000 tonnes or more of grain, 14 have transported 2,000 tonnes or more, and 1 has transported 3,000 tonnes or more of grain," noted the project head. "In total, youth crews have threshed 372,368 tonnes of grain to date, and young drivers have transported 291,539 tonnes."

Young leaders are being honoured in every region with diplomas and pennants. Territorial BRSM organisations will also send letters of appreciation to the parents of the participants.

The republican project "Youth for Harvest!" among youth harvesting crews and young drivers started on July 12. It is a form of competition between young combine harvester operators and drivers involved in the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops. Traditionally, the project includes two nominations: "Youth Combine Harvester Crew Achieving the Highest Threshing" and "Young Driver Transporting the Largest Quantity of Grain". It involves a comprehensive information campaign on the official internet resources of the BRSM, as well as in the youth organisation's social media groups under the hashtags #молодежьзаурожай, #жатвабеларуси2021, and #роднаенароднае.

The youth project is implemented by the BRSM with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and other interested parties. It contributes to enhancing national food security, popularising agricultural labour and agrarian professions, and retaining youth in rural areas. Over the past three years, 2,026 youth crews and 1,688 young drivers have participated in the project.
