26 September, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. "Gorplodovoshchtorg" is being restored in Vitebsk, the enterprise's director, Alexander Nizyulko, informed a BELTA correspondent. Br1 billion has been allocated from the regional budget for the restoration of the Vitebsk City Fruit and Vegetable Trade Unitary Communal Trade and Procurement Enterprise. Currently, in accordance with the organisation's restoration programme for 2011-2012, the first four storage facilities on Gorky Street have been prepared, with a total simultaneous storage capacity for fruit and vegetable products of about 2,000 tonnes. Design work is underway to prepare other storage facilities and to form its own retail network. "The main volume of this work is planned to be completed next year," noted Alexander Nizyulko, emphasizing that all "Gorplodovoshchtorg" facilities will be restored using advanced technologies in the field of energy saving and product storage. Since 2004, "Vitebsk Gorplodovoshchtorg", which specialised in wholesale and retail trade, had been in the process of liquidation. The decision to restore its activities was made considering a threefold increase in the volume of fruit and vegetable products and potatoes placed in the stabilisation fund to fully meet the population's needs in the upcoming off-season period. In addition, the organisation is intended to provide the residents of the regional centre with the necessary volume of root crops and vegetables. -0-
