The unique contingent, following its route, has already visited Brest, Grodno, Minsk, and Gomel, gathering memories and stories from every corner of Belarus.
Today, Vitebsk became the next stop for 200 passengers – representatives of the peoples of the former Soviet republics who together achieved a glorious Victory over Nazism in 1945.
– Today, on the Vitebsk land, we proudly welcome the "Train of Memory" – an event that has become a good tradition. In the Vitebsk region, you will visit only two cities, and it is a little sad that you will spend only half a day in each of them. Our land is full of stories, and each of them deserves attention.
Vitebsk region is famous for its heroic past. Fierce battles took place here during the Great Patriotic War, and you have the honour to pay tribute to our ancestors who defended the Motherland. I am sure that you, as representatives of your peoples, will fulfill this duty with honour and dignity.
