As part of the regional school student sports games, football matches were held, in which the team from Lepel district also participated. The majority of its members were pupils from Borovukha Secondary School and the Gymnasium, under the guidance of coaches Viktor Matyushenko and Alexander Pritsker.

At the beginning of the month, zonal games were held in Orsha, where six teams competed for a place in the final. The Lepel team won all their matches. The young footballers scored a total of 12 goals, conceding only three. Thus, they earned the right to compete in the final, which took place in Polotsk.

Along with the Lepel team, the team from the city of Polotsk was also vying for the championship title.

The final match took on a very intense and principled character from the very first minutes. The Lepel team repeatedly organised attacks towards the opponent's goal, and the latter did not lag behind, launching dangerous, swift counter-attacks. The Polotsk team is traditionally strong in all areas of the field: goalkeeping, defence, and attack. In the middle of the game, Denis Agrizko, a forward from Borovukha, scored a beautiful goal.

The score remained 1:1 almost until the end of the game, with neither team able to turn the situation in their favour. Extra time was looming when the Polotsk team scored their much-desired goal four minutes before the final whistle. Despite the fierce attacks from the Lepel team, the Polotsk footballers held their positions firmly.

- Second place in the sports games is not the desired result at the start of the 2013 football season," says coach Viktor Matyushenko with regret. - But new competitions lie ahead, including the main ones – the "Kolosok" rural team competitions and the "Leather Ball" children's team championship for prizes from the Presidential Sports Club.
