Valentin Eduardovich Lovets, Head of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations (ROChS), conducted a fire safety awareness talk with the elders of the settlements of the Lepel Village Council. The representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) familiarised the attendees with the fire statistics for the current year and explained that the number of fires in the residential sector increases during the winter period.

The representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) familiarised the attendees with the fire statistics for the current year and explained that the number of fires in the residential sector increases during the winter period. The main causes can be careless handling of fire, faulty stove heating, and violation of fire safety rules when operating domestic electric heating appliances. He provided examples of fires that occurred in the territory of the Lepel Village Council. He recommended that the villagers install autonomous fire alarms, citing examples of people being saved as a result of their activation. He also reminded the attendees of the rules for using primary fire extinguishing equipment.
At the end of the talk, the head of the department answered all questions of interest and presented the attendees with thematic leaflets containing important life safety tips. Educational videos titled "Causes of Fires," "Autonomous Fire Alarm," and "Stove Heating" were also demonstrated.
