The main topic was the work of inspection commissions in the Lepel District based on the results of 2019.

The head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Sergey Nikolaevich Meshkin, took part in the presidium meeting. During the discussion of problematic issues, Sergey Nikolaevich noted that there is nothing more important than human life and health. However, the analysis of fires revealed areas where the activity of all interested services needs to be intensified and their approaches changed.

Also, the head of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, Valentin Eduardovich Lovéts, delivered a report on the work carried out by inspection commissions in the Lepel District.

As a result, it was decided to continue preventive work to ensure fire safety of residential buildings in settlements, involving all prevention entities available in the district for these purposes.

Then, the head of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations took part in a rural meeting of citizens in the village of Domzheritsy, where he spoke about the operational situation in the Vitebsk region, noting the causes of fires that occurred. Sergey Nikolaevich noted that every person needs not only to know the rules of conduct in emergency situations but also to be ready to implement them at any moment, both at work and at home. The need to maintain electrical wiring in good working order, stove and gas heating was also mentioned, and attention was drawn to the importance of purchasing, installing, and maintaining autonomous fire alarms in working order.

The representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the main cause of child mortality and injury is the carelessness of parents who do not exercise proper control over their children and leave them unattended.

The mobile application "Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus: Help is Nearby" and its functional capabilities as a "pocket" safety guide were also demonstrated to those present.

In conclusion, Sergey Nikolaevich urged everyone present to be concerned about their own safety, as well as the safety of their relatives and loved ones.
