President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, while receiving the government's report for 2025, instructed to restore and repair roads after winter, BELTA correspondent reports.
"We need to think now about how to repair roads after winter," the head of state set the task. "We need to restore them, whatever it takes. We need to mobilize."
The President noted that the asphalt pavement of roads is subject to destruction in the weather conditions of the Belarusian winter, therefore, where it is appropriate, bitumen and especially cement should be used. "Therefore, we need to focus on concreting," Alexander Lukashenko advised. Moreover, the country has already mastered the relevant technologies, has the necessary equipment, and good examples of operating roads with such pavement.
Regarding the work of road services, the President also drew attention to the condition of suburban roads, from which snow was removed, but it remained in piles on the shoulders. "I drive and see a trough. They cleared the snow, threw it left and right. Then it rained, and a 'reinforced concrete' barrier formed. Now the rains will come, the thaw, and a trough will form - water will be on the asphalt. We will destroy all the roads," said Alexander Lukashenko. "Could they not have pushed the snow not onto the shoulder, but into the ditch, so that water would drain all spring when the snow melts. Don't our road workers know this? Or do we not have a Deputy Prime Minister who is in charge of this?"
