Naftan Open Joint-Stock Company is preparing to present new engine oils for gasoline engines to Belarusian motorists, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent. The Naftan Premier and Naftan Garant engine oils are innovative and import-substituting products. Previously, such oils were exclusively represented by foreign manufacturers on the domestic market. The production of the new oils will use the formulation and additives of one of the world's leading oil manufacturers. The first batch of new oils will amount to approximately 800 tonnes. Naftan Premier and Naftan Garant will be distributed through the Belorusneft petrol station network. For sale, the oils will be bottled in 1 and 4-litre polyethylene canisters. According to the international API classification, Naftan Garant corresponds to the SJ category. The oil is intended for gasoline engines of modern and earlier passenger cars, minibuses, and light trucks operated in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions, and can also be used if SG category oils and earlier are recommended. Naftan Premier corresponds to the SL category. The oil is designed for gasoline engines of modern passenger cars. The product has significantly improved antioxidant, anti-wear, detergent, and energy-saving properties. The Novopolotsk oil refinery was commissioned in 1963. In 2002, the enterprise was corporatized, and in 2008, the company was reorganized by merging with the major chemical enterprise Polimir OJSC. In 2011, Naftan processed over 10 million tonnes of oil, including about 1 million tonnes of "black gold" from Venezuela. The Naftan OJSC Development Program for 2010-2015 provides for an increase in oil processing volume to 12 million tonnes per year. -0-
