On July 16, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Boban Mojsoski from Macedonia became the leader of the international pop song performers competition based on the results of two performances, reports BELTA correspondent. On the second competition day, young singers performed a song by a Slavic author in a Slavic language, accompanied by the National Concert Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the direction of Mikhail Finberg. Despite the fact that singing with an orchestra is always more difficult than with a musical backing track, as it was on the first competition day, the performers coped with the task. This was confirmed by both the audience's applause and the jury's scores, which were higher for all contestants than the day before. Jury Chairman Maxim Dunaevsky was more lenient and even awarded four tens. However, the top five strongest performers, determined on the first day, practically remained unchanged. Out of a possible 220 points for two days of performances, Boban Mojsoski received 199 points and became a contender for the Grand Prix of the competition. Audience favourite Samanta Tina from Latvia scored 197 points. Ukrainian Halyna Konakh is five points behind her with 192 points. Federica Marinari from Italy with 187 points came in fourth. Slávina Kalkanjiieva from Bulgaria closes the top five with 185 points. Belarusian contestant Evgeny Slavich has 183 points. Together with Ruslan from Armenia, they share seventh place, falling behind Daria Gabdull from Kazakhstan with 184 points. Russian Anastasia has 175 points and ninth place. Assessing his performance in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent, Evgeny Slavich primarily noted the objectivity of the judging. "My scores are fair. And the leaders truly are leaders: they sing beautifully, they have a well-chosen repertoire," he believes. Evgeny intends to continue his performing career and will continue to participate in vocal competitions. "This is an excellent school and great experience," said the young musician. This year, 20 performers from 20 countries participated in the competition. The jury of the XXI International Pop Song Performers Competition "Vitebsk-2012" was headed by People's Artist of Russia Maxim Dunaevsky.
