An aerial bomb found near a school in Vitebsk caused the evacuation of about 300 people, the press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Marina Fando, told a BELTA correspondent. The emergency occurred at the construction site of an apartment building at the intersection of Chernyakhovsky Avenue and Voinev Internatsionalistov Street. During the installation of the cable route, the operator discovered an ordnance from the Great Patriotic War period. The find, which turned out to be an aerial bomb weighing about 40 kg, was immediately reported to the rescuers. Given the high explosive potential of the ordnance, employees of the Pervomaisky District Department of Emergency Situations, together with the personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, immediately evacuated 230 students from the adjacent building of Secondary School No. 40 and 54 employees of OJSC "Zhilstroy". A cordon was set up at the site where the aerial bomb was found. After a few hours, a demining group from military unit No. 5524 transported the shell to a safe place for further destruction. -0-
