On the eve of Labour Day, the winners of the professional skills competition "Master of the Year of the Vitebsk Region – 2024" were awarded in Vitebsk.

Labour is the foundation of the country's development and well-being. This was stated by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Dmitry Demidov, who presented awards to the winners of the "Master of the Year of the Vitebsk Region – 2024" professional skills competition on the eve of May Day.

– Behind the achievements of any enterprise stands a team, where everyone in their place creates common success. The basis of state policy in our country is fair treatment of people, – emphasized Dmitry Demidov. – By a good tradition, on the eve of May 1, the trade union sums up the results of the professional skills competition, thereby popularizing working specialties and professions, recognizing the best and most dedicated people to their chosen path. Teachers, doctors, builders, representatives of other sectors of the national economy ensure our well-being through their labour. I am sure that for the younger generation, each of you will serve as an example.

Awards for labour were presented to 17 representatives of various economic sectors of the northern region – these are workers in agriculture, healthcare, education, trade, the petrochemical complex, energy, communications, construction, and other industries. Among them is Vladislav Obolevich, an electrical fitter for testing and measurements at the "Polimir" plant of OJSC "Naftan".

– I came to the enterprise by assignment in 2019, and a year later I was already on the podium of the plant's professional skills competition. I am confident that there is still room to strive and grow in my field. Recently, a young specialist joined our team, with whom I share my experience, offering guidance and teaching the basics and subtleties of the profession, – noted Vladislav Obolevich.

The Chairman of the Regional Trade Union Association, Yuri Derkach, emphasized that workers in various fields and labour veterans, who have developed and continue to develop the country's economy, have always been treated with honour and respect. The Labour Day holiday highlights the creative nature of the people, and the professional skills competition is another reason for pride, and for others – an incentive for quality work.
