On November 15, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Tax authorities in the Vitebsk region seized excise goods from illegal circulation worth over Br2.2 billion in 10 months, the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. During control measures carried out by the tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in January-October 2012, 462 violations of the legislation regulating the production and circulation of excise goods were identified. 8.6 thousand litres of alcoholic and non-food alcohol-containing products, 8.8 million pieces of tobacco products, 1.4 thousand litres of petroleum products, 948 litres of malt beer, and 9.5 thousand litres of other excise goods were seized from illegal circulation. Excise goods worth Br1.5 billion were converted to state revenue. Based on the inspection results, business entities engaged in the production and circulation of excise goods are subject to an additional Br2.5 billion in taxes to be paid into the budget. As a result of inspections, 167 business entities and 236 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility by judicial and tax authorities based on inspection materials.
