18 September, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region have seized excise goods worth over Br1.5 billion from illegal circulation in the first 8 months of the current year, BELTA was informed by the press centre of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of Belarus for the Vitebsk region. During control measures carried out by the tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in January-August, 357 violations of the legislation regulating the production and circulation of excise goods were identified. 5.6 thousand litres of alcoholic and non-food alcohol-containing products, 7.1 million pieces of tobacco products, over 1 thousand litres of petroleum products, 906 litres of malt beer and 9.5 thousand litres of other excise goods were seized from illegal circulation. Excise goods worth Br1.3 billion were converted to state revenue. Based on the results of inspections, business entities engaged in the production and circulation of excise goods are subject to additional tax payments to the budget exceeding Br2.4 billion. As a result of inspections, 117 business entities and 176 individuals have been brought to administrative responsibility by judicial and tax authorities.
