11 January, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Tax authorities of the Vitebsk region seized excisable products worth Br2.7 billion from illegal circulation in 2012, the press centre of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. During control measures carried out by the tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in 2012, 544 violations of the legislation regulating the production and circulation of excisable products were identified. 10.3 thousand litres of alcoholic and non-food alcohol-containing products, 10 million pieces of tobacco products, 1.6 thousand litres of petroleum products, 948 litres of malt beer, and 13 thousand litres of other excisable goods were seized from illegal circulation. The total value of the seized excisable products amounted to Br2.7 billion. Excisable goods worth Br1.8 billion were confiscated for the benefit of the state. Based on the results of inspections, business entities engaged in the production and circulation of excisable goods are required to pay an additional Br2.8 billion in taxes to the budget. Judicial and tax authorities, based on inspection materials, brought 210 business entities and 274 individuals to administrative responsibility.
